“You will love it! Most of us have also endured cancer and we know what you are going through. The classes will lift you up and give you a new group of supportive buddies.”

“I have moderate to significant joint pain and osteoporosis because of medication, which are helped remarkably with each class I have with Kathy. She guides us to move slowly and deliberately, which allows me time to get into the correct position without pain and to then actively feel my muscles and joints as I move so that I can make adjustments in a slow manner, avoiding injury and improving my strength. By the end of each session I feel stronger, taller, refreshed, and joyful. I am incredibly grateful for Kathy. Her classes have made me a healthier, happier person.”

“Kathy offers many alternatives for positions, or stretches for all the yoga poses. She encourages us to try new things, but also to avoid something that does not work for us- It is quite acceptable to find things uncomfortable and to stop and try another pose. She also does the practice along with us so you can check to see if you are doing something similar- or if you need a refresher on the pose. She has a tremendous sense of humor about yoga and our efforts and makes us laugh. A primary reason I keep coming back is that it helps my body in better condition. I also find the group shares some understanding- in that we share a health experience. Kathy is also a very supportive and encouraging type of instructor- that accepts us as we are- does not make you feel like you can not participate unless you meet a certain standard. We are all in this journey together. The class has varied people, personalities, yoga talents, physical strengths, male, female, working, retired, and we all love yoga together.”

“Literally my body, my mind, and spirit were all broken before reluctantly attending one of your yoga sessions. I was so afraid of my own embarrassment as I just couldn’t do certain things. But now I realize that yoga sessions are all about what you make of it. I’ve regained muscle strength that I thought would be lost forever, and mentally it has reduced my anxiety to where I no longer need to take any anti-anxiety medication. And practicing yoga over time has greatly reduced my loss of bladder control along with dramatically reducing that immediate sense of urgency.”

“Kathy has been able to build a sense of community while teaching the class on zoom- a real feat! I was skeptical at first. I think Kathy's warmth, sense of humor and sincere interest in each participant has been important in creating this community. She has also provided some 30 minute yoga sessions which are especially helpful when I’m not able to attend the regular sessions.”

— Ann Louise

“I started yoga with Kathy almost eight years ago. I was eager to regain a healthy body and once again believe in my body's strength and abilities. It was now 3 years post cancer treatment and 1 1/2 years post double knee replacements. I wanted to reclaim my life of energy and activity. Kathy's approach to yoga was gentle and encouraging just the right amount of push so I could experience the joy of progress on my road to the real me. When I experienced difficulties in certain yoga moves Kathy was always there with an appropriate modification, through her teaching approach I learned to distinguish between positive muscle ache and genuine pain which gave me the ability to try more challenging moves and succeed. I will always be grateful for Kathy's approach to yoga. It truly helped me recapture an active life with my family and grandchildren.”

“ First of all, Kathy teaches with a sense of fun, ease, and kindness. She continually makes it clear that everyone's bodies and needs are always different and that we all can be different from one day to the next. Self-acceptance is crucial in the practice and Kathy makes that a goal. Most importantly, she has created a real community where each of us knows we are valued and cared for. That is something that was missing from other yoga practices that I have experienced.”

— Debbie

“Kathy's authentic warmth and welcome make it clear from the moment she begins each class that yoga is for everyone, that it is a journey for each of us, and that she is there as a guide and companion for anyone who would like to begin or deepen their practice with her. She combines deep respect for the tradition and deep respect for her students to create an experience that nurtures well-being and cultivates community. That's not easy to do online, but she makes it work!”
